Yoga Day
Maxfort School, a renowned institution known for its holistic approach to education, recently enthusiastically celebrated International Yoga Day. The event aimed at promoting the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being among students and staff. The celebration featured a variety of activities that fostered a deeper understanding and appreciation for yoga.
The day commenced with the school principal Dr. Ragini Kaul emphasizing upon the importance of yoga in leading a balanced and healthy lifestyle. To promote active participation, the students displayed different asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques. The focus of the asanas was to teach the correct postures, breathing techniques, and the benefits of regular practice.
To add a competitive element to the day, yoga competitions were held among the students. Participants showcased their flexibility, balance, and control through a series of yoga poses. The competitions encouraged students to push their boundaries, inspiring them to excel in their yoga practice.
The school faculty also actively participated and served as role models for the students. They shared insights into yoga’s historical and philosophical roots, its impact on physical and mental health, and practical tips for incorporating yoga into daily routines. These talks aimed to enhance awareness and understanding of yoga beyond its physical aspects to all the Maxfortians.
Overall, it was an enriching day at school for the children who all learned about the numerous physical and mental benefits of yoga and to encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
