Report on Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a learning difference that affects reading, spelling, and writing abilities. It is not indicative of intelligence but rather a unique way of processing information. Individuals with dyslexia may face challenges in decoding words, spelling, and organizing written language. Despite these difficulties, many dyslexic individuals exhibit strengths in areas such as problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
We at Maxfort School, Paschim Vihar celebrated Dyslexia Awareness Week. Recent workshops and activities focused on students with dyslexia. Across the school, children learnt about what dyslexia is, understanding what it means to be dyslexic and all the positives that it can bring, as well as some challenges. The children have learnt about several famous people with dyslexia and their achievements, they even watched a video regarding the same. Middle school organized a rally followed by poster making fostering understanding, and promoting an inclusive environment for all learners. The event aimed to break down stigmas associated with dyslexia. Special Educator of the school gave a speech and conducted a quiz for all the classes to give them a clear picture of what dyslexia and how can we overcome the challenges. Students of classes IX and X performed a skit to elucidate it further.
Our Principal Mam Dr. Ragini Kaul through her speech, explained the importance of fostering an inclusive environment. In embracing diversity, our school community to create an environment where every student can thrive. By understanding dyslexia and implementing supportive measures, we not only empower students with dyslexia but also enrich the educational experience for all.
